After an accident in North Carolina, there are some common sense things you should do. The most important thing is to get the medical treatment you need if you’ve been hurt. You should also get pictures of the scene of the accident, of the cars involved, and of any visible injuries to your body. As soon as you have a moment, make detailed notes of just how the wreck happened. Later, you should get a copy of the crash report from either the police or the highway patrol, and report the wreck to both your insurance company and to the insurance company of the person who caused the accident.

Obviously, if you have been injured, you should have someone else do these things for you.

While these things are just common sense, there are important details about how you do these things that you should be aware of. The following videos in this section describe some of the steps you can take to protect your rights.
